Power surges can happen at any time, which can cause costly damage to sensitive electronics, such as TVs, computers, gaming systems, etc. While plug-in surge suppressors help provide some level of protection for your electronics, they are not 100% effective. The Electronics Surge Protection program helps you pay for the unexpected costs of repairing or replacing your covered sensitive electronics.
Yes, you may cancel with 30 days written notice. However, since power surges could happen anytime and potentially damage or destroy your valuable electronics, such as your TVs, computers, tablets, and gaming systems, we strongly encourage you to maintain your Electronics Surge Protection service plan for as long as you have valuable electronics to protect.
Surge damage to your sensitive electronics may not be covered by your landlord or renter's insurance. You are typically responsible for repairing or replacing your personal electronics, such as your TVs, computers, tablets, and gaming systems, out of your own funds. Please refer to your applicable coverage documents (lease agreement and/or renter's insurance) for proper coverage information.
It is good to have plug-ins/power strips to help protect your sensitive electronics. However, in the event your electronics are damaged or destroyed by a power surge, the Electronics Surge Protection program will provide coverage to help repair or replace them (up to $6,000 per year).
The Electronics Surge Protection plan does not cover damage resulting from normal wear and tear, misuse, accidents, or acts of God (other than lightning) like fire, windstorm, flood, or hurricane. View the Terms and Conditions for a complete list of exclusions.
The Electronic Surge Protection program provides coverage for the repair or replacement of your covered electronics, like computers and televisions, that are damaged due to power surges up to $6,000 per year. Find a complete list here.
Under the Electronics Surge Program Terms & Conditions, the obligor will, at its sole discretion, either reimburse you (1) the current market value (depreciated value) of the damaged appliance at the time of damage, which is determined by the original retail price and age of the appliance immediately before the power surge damage occurred, (2) the reasonable actual repair costs, or (3) the reasonable estimated cost of repair.
